#Self-sabotage
There are sooo many ways we sabotage ourselves! And there are also a number of reasons why we do this:
We can be afraid to shine because others might be jealous, or it might feel dangerous to shine because of what happened in a previous lifetime.
*We can be afraid of failure/being ridiculed/being unwanted/being ostracized.
*We can be afraid of not being good enough/making mistakes/being imperfect.
*We can be afraid of others’ or our own expectations, and not being able to live up to them.
*We can be afraid of being seen as selfish, self-centered, big-headed, or something else equally negative.
*We can be afraid of losing face/making a fool out of ourselves/being laughed at.
*We can be afraid of being bullied or questioned.
*We can be afraid of being seen as amateurs or someone who doesn’t know what they’re talking about.
All of this makes it very scary to step outside the comfort zone…
So what does all of this fear make us do?
– Instead of doing something, we get stuck in our heads just thinking about it.
– We think that we have to be a pro before we even start practising, so we don’t do anything.
– We do something that seem safe instead, like staying at a job we dislike but know how to do.
– We find ways to procrastinate by:
*having too many things to do, so no one can expect us to be really good at ONE thing – least of all ourselves…
*having too many things to do so we don’t have time to do what we want…
*having too many responsibilities, so we don’t have time to do what we came here to do…
*keeping our finances in a bad state, so we don’t have any options…
*keeping our homes in a mess, so we won’t allow ourselves to do the things we dream of before we’ve cleaned up the mess = we keep ourselves hostage…
This list goes on and on…
So in what ways are you stopping yourself from doing what you came here to do? Tell me in the comments!
